Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

However, after creating and deleting pages back and forth I was able to recreate the bug three times now.

Me too, but all I did was create create create delete delete delete, no editing of images. I wasn't counting, but I think it may be something less than 20 insert/deletes.

Re:running slow for anybody? - 2008/05/09 22:13 I agree with all these posts. On an Intel iMac, the program ran painfully slow. After five minutes or so, I decided that I couldn't possibly use it in its current state. I'll stick with the old Comic Life for now.

Re:running slow for anybody? - 2008/05/09 22:47 Yeah, I've noticed some pretty poor performance too - 4GB ram Macbook. The FPS slows down to a crawl when I'm resizing lettering, for example. I looked around for preferences that might let me optimize things - like in games where you can lower the resolution or number of polygons - but there wasn't much available.

Not completely unusable, but it's something they really should address in v1.1 - I'll try it on the iMac later.

Re:running slow for anybody? - 2008/05/10 00:28 When using the Focus feature, Non-selected elements are washed out, but the element selected can still be edited. Try using it to see if it helps when editing pages with many elements.

Re:running slow for anybody? - 2008/05/10 09:11 I have the slow-runnings problem on my Intel iMac with 2GB of RAM. I was playing with Magiq to see what it does, as I just got it. I dragged a few pictures onto a template page and then started editing. Took forever and then the app just crashed.
Restarted and tried again, no crashes the second time, but still v-e-r-r-r-r-y slow.
This, along with the "exposure" button, needs some work!

Re:running slow for anybody? - 2008/05/10 09:52 Hi All
We'd love to see some example of comics that are being slow for people -- if you're unfortunately experiencing slow-downs when working with Comic Life Magiq then please send us a support email with your comic attached (See Support at the top of this page) and we'll do our best to track down the problem.

Many thanks for your understanding while we iron out these problems.

Tip: Comic Life Magiq does require a reasonable amount of RAM to run due to it's full multi-page layout view, so you may better performance if not running other heavy RAM-using applications.
