Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Connection Failure?!? - 2008/05/13 11:23 Hello,

LOVE the new interface and just all around wholesomey goodness of Comic Life Magiq! This is how mac apps are meant to look and feel!

I have had a strange problem with Comic Life previously, and this problem now seems to be afflicting Comic Life Magiq as well.

When I launch either program, I get the following message every time:

Connection Failed
The server may not exist or it is not operational at this time. Check the server name or IP address and your network connection and try again.

When using Comic Life, the program hangs for 10-15 seconds and then goes to the comic creation window. However, on Comic Life Magiq, it just hangs, and stays that way, requiring a force quit.

Any ideas what is going on here?

Many thanks!

Re:Connection Failure?!? - 2008/05/14 03:47 Hi Rubidium,

Thanks for the kind words!

It seems that your problem may stem from an iPhoto or Aperture Library that makes reference to images which are stored on a server or somewhere else -- and your Mac is trying to connect to a server which doesn't exist. This is all handled by your Mac when Comic Life Magiq asks for all the photos you have, so it's not something directly in our control, unfortunately. This apple forum talks a little about what looks to be the same problem.

Perhaps this may shed some light on your problem? ie, you've some images which are stored remotely, and were not copied to your own Macs image folder?

Re:Connection Failure?!? - 2008/05/14 03:48 One more thing,

Perhaps you have/ had the 'do not copy' preference switched on in your iPhoto Preferences?
