Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

Major Stablity Issues - 2008/05/13 21:37 I was TRYING to use some of the effects but this program keeps crashing. It is so unstable, that it is basically unuseable.

I already trashed the pref's & that did no good and sent PLASQ all of these crash reports but still have not heard of a fix.

I feel as if I wasted 40 bucks on this.

Anyone else having issues?

Re:Major Stablity Issues - 2008/05/13 23:00 Margeaux,

Did you also click on the "Contact" link above to send information to plasq that way? Once they have your information, they can work with you via email to determine what the problem is and how to resolve it.

I haven't done anything over 6 pages yet but, while there are some bugs, I haven't had any crashes that I can reproduce (of course, the non-reproducible ones are always more annoying!!)

Re:Major Stablity Issues - 2008/05/15 12:34 It's also crashing like there's no tomorrow on my machine.

I've sent bug reports to plasq, but in its current state of stability this application is not usable. If this were a public beta I'd have no issue, but this is a full version and I have paid money for it, so I'm mildly annoyed...

Re:Major Stablity Issues - 2008/05/16 05:12 Hi Bunglemeister, Margeaux

I'm sorry to hear your experience of Comic Life Magiq has not been a smooth one so far.

For the vast majority of people, as far as we can tell, and as far as our beta testing period has shown us, Comic Life Magiq is a very stable application.

However, that does not negate the issues you are experiencing, and we're keen to solve them. We appreciate the crash reports and are looking into them. If you'd like a personal reply, then the best solution is to send us an email via out Support page (above). This way we can ask more detailed questions about usage, hardware, software and hopefully get some examples of comic documents that are crashing for you. Unfortunately sometimes bugs are very obscure, and it's a mystery that needs a number of reports to find the commonality.

If there are other people out there experiencing crashing like this, then we're very keen to hear about it.

Many thanks for your patience,

Keith

Re:Major Stablity Issues - 2008/05/16 05:26 UPDATE:

We've found and fixed an issue affecting some PPC users, many thanks to reports sent in - will be available in the next update.

Are people who are experiencing crashes using any kinds of font managers, or have any applications are installing similar 'comic' fonts?

Many thanks

Keith

Re:Major Stablity Issues - 2008/05/21 04:46 On my PPC iMac the programme is also crashing repeatedly, even when doing basic things like selecting a template, and it is unusable.

I have sent in the error reports; and in response to your question below, I am not using any kind of font manager.

I'm not impressed, particular as I have previously successfully enjoyed using Comic Life. I hope you can quickly offer an acceptable fix.
