We’ve seen Comic Life used to teach all kinds of things from how to take photos to how to recognize symptoms of a stroke. And now we have another great example of how Comic Life can be used to pass along wisdom. Chiens Guides d’Aveugles au Luxembourg (“The Luxembourgish Guide Dog Association”) recently had it’s 10th anniversary, and they used Comic Life to show what it’s like for the guide dogs (and people) they work so closely with.
Matthias of Chiens Guides d’Aveugles au Luxembourg explains, “It is one of our objectives to promote understanding and tolerance towards people with disabilities. This comic book should sensitise young people for the problems of the blind and visually impaired people in our society.”

Some of the things that Chiens Guides d’Aveugles au Luxembourg does:
– Consult visual handicapped people to get detailed information about guide dogs. In case they decide to get a guide dog for improving their mobility, we support them to complete all formalities and procedures.
– Collect donations for guide dogs. A visual handicapped person should never have to pay for his guide dog (which could not be taken for granted before we founded our association).
– Try to inform the public about guide dogs and their masters. The comic is a result of this activity. It should make young people aware of the problems of the blind and visually impaired people in our society. Further more, we are producing films, press articles, etc.
– All our members work honorary. We work unpaid in our spare time. Nobody was paid for the production of the comic (except for the print of the paper version).
