Comic Life can be used to break down images. Elements like speech balloons and arrows can be directed to pin point areas of a picture, explain what’s being represented and tease out meaning.
Students at Flordale primary school in Mississauga, Ontario participated in an exercise analyzing advertisements. Their technology teacher, Ms. Font, provided them with ads and Comic Life encouraging the fifth grade students to find out how the advertisement was working by identifying intended audience, slogans, branding… Very cool! We love the idea of teaching students how to critically consider images they are presented.
