I know you’ve all been pondering over one of the world’s most intriguing questions – who is using Comic Life to save the world? We’ve been pondering too.

As it turns out, there are a lot of people using Comic Life to save the world, quite literally. WildEyeOpen uses comics to illustrate the importance of sound ecological systems and the positive impact that healthy land and water can have on communities.

“Andy Luck and Jerry short of WildOpenEye are recently back from filming in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. It was an extremely interesting and worthwhile assignment for the United Nations Development Program(UNDP) to focus attention on the world’s great forests and the importance of preserving them for future generations.

It was a fascinating expedition and very heartening to see the good work that is being enabled by small grants programme funding from the UNDP’s Global Environment Facility (currently celebrating its 20th year of operation). The community conservation work of KAPOK(Komuniti Anak Pokok Kinabatangan) is exemplary, and crucially important in restoring forest habitat, creating forest corridors and protecting biodiversity to help sustain the livelihoods that depend upon diverse forests. Seeing all the healthy young seedlings in KAPOK’s tree nursery was extremely heartening, KAPOK are a very dedicated team with a strong love of their land and an equally strong desire to help restore the mighty forests that sustain human and wildlife populations alike in the Kinabatangan floodplains.”
